Welcome to Perelandra - An experience designed to help you appreciate the glory that surrounds us all!
Perelandra is a private recording/performance studio conceived, constructed and owned by Jerry Read Smith in conjunction with Song of the Wood, Ltd. and located in the beautiful mountains of East Asheville, North Carolina! Jerry hosts Concerts and Workshops to offer high quality music and instruction in an intimate, relaxed atmosphere where the guest's experience is both personal and vital. The listening experience in this room is, most likely, unlike anything you have experienced before. The connection between the artist and the audience is a truly exhilarating experience. All performances are recorded "live." Every Concert is preceded by a very informal Reception where the concert-goers get an opportunity to meet the performing artist ... and each other "one on one." The Workshops give interested participants the chance to learn from these extraordinary talents ... and, hopefully, inspire their own musical journey. Come join in on the experience of ...Perelandra!
Seating is limited and all presentations will be handled on a "first come, first serve" basis. You can view the 2013 schedule below!
Most Concerts start at 7pm, and will be preceded by a complimentary Reception on the deck and/or in the house at 6pm, during which time you can get to know the artist(s), enjoy a bit of refreshment (both hot and cold hors d'oeurves), and admire the mountain views!
Here’s how it works:
We will email an invitation approximately a month prior to the concert date, at which time we will begin accepting reservations for that concert. All reservations will be “first come, first served.” Seating is limited to 50, and most concerts sell out, so don’t wait to reserve your seat!
Although you cannot reserve a seat prior to receiving the actual invitation, you can let us know if you are especially interested in a particular upcoming event, and we will add your name to an “early invitation list”, which will go out three days before the general invitation. To do this, simply email Perelandra@songofthewood.com and ask to be placed on the “early invitation list” for the concert you want to attend. Remember, this list is ONLY for that particular concert ... If you would like be added to our regular mailing list for ALL concert invitations click SUBSCRIBE
We look forward to having you join us!
