For more than six decades, the Asheville Community
Theatre has been entertaining it’s visitors and patrons
through their dynamic shows at 35 East Walnut Street.
Renowned for being the oldest continuously operating
theatre in Asheville, the Asheville Community Theatre is
also one of the oldest community theatres in the nation!
Marking their 63rd season this year, the Asheville
Community Theatre has fantastic shows planned in their their

Black Mountain Center for the Arts

Black Mountain is a community that thrives on creativity
and self expression and has a long history of being an
artist’s haven. The Black Mountain Center for the Arts
is a special place located in the historic Old City Hall
building. The gallery features unique exhibits and
special programs in music and the visual and performing
arts. Throughout the year several special events open to
the public are hosted by the Black Mountain Center for
the Arts. Classes and workshops are
offered regularly and the Pottery Studio inside the
center offers a “paint – on” experience where patrons
can choose a piece of pottery to get creative with. A
special time at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts
is during the yearly Art in Bloom event which is a
wonderful three day flower and art show. Come and be a
part of the arts at the Black Mountain Center for the

The Brevard Music Center is one of the nation's most
exciting musical endeavors with its special musical
training school and diverse concert series. Featuring
over 80 performances each year during their summer
festival, the Brevard Music Center brings music such as
symphony, pops, grand opera, Broadway, chamber music,
jazz, and rock to Western North Carolina. The Brevard
Music Center’s 73rd season begins June 26, 2009 and will run
for seven weeks until August 9, 2009. You will
definitely want to enjoy a show if you are visiting us

The Folk Art Center – Southern Highland Craft Guild

at Milepost 382, the Folk Art Center and Southern
Highland Craft Guild is a remarkable gallery that
displays works by numerous craft artists from all around
the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Visitors to the
center can browse the three art galleries and shop
for handmade and one-of-a-kind gifts and artwork at the
